Someone asked me a simple question at a conference I attended in Chicago last week:
“Why did you start Aspire Fitness?”
And with our third location opening soon, it felt like the perfect time to revisit that.
Before Aspire, I worked in a lot of commercial gym settings. And to be honest, it was frustrating. I saw too many coaches giving every client the same workout… or worse, doing things that made no sense, got zero results, or even caused injuries.
There was no real plan. No shared vision. And definitely no accountability for whether clients were actually getting better.
I didn’t want that.
So I set out to build something different — a place where the client actually comes first.
That meant:
- Custom plans built around real goals
- A team of coaches all on the same page
- And programs designed to improve people’s lives — not just beat them into the ground with five random high-intensity workouts a week.
At first, I thought I wanted to train athletes.
But over time, I realized how much more rewarding it is to help everyday people — parents, professionals, people who’ve tried everything — finally feel strong, confident, and in control of their health.
Don’t get me wrong, we’ve got some amazing athletes here.
But the stories that get us fired up are the ones where someone who never really liked gyms finally finds a place they belong.
Where a mom gets her first chin-up.
Or a dad starts feeling like he did in college and has the energy to keep up with his kids again.
That’s what Aspire is about.
We say it all the time:
Train hard. Live easy.
The work you put in here should make the rest of your life better.
We’re not trying to make fitness your whole life. We’re here to help you live your best one — with smart training, real accountability, and a team that’s actually invested in you.
If that sounds like something you need, we’d love to help.
